Science Olympiad teams from three Rutherford schools have advanced to the state competition following a regional contest at Middle Tennessee State University.
MTSU’s Science Olympiad Regional Tournament was held Saturday, Feb. 15. The contest spans biology, earth science, chemistry, physics, engineering, and inquiry.
In the middle school division, Siegel finished fourth and Smyrna finished fifth. Central Magnet earned a second-place finish in the high school portion. The state contest will be held at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
Middle school teams from Rockvale and Rutherford County Virtual School competed, as did teams from Rockvale and Smyrna High schools.
