About me

Katie Capshaw has been in public education since 2008. Mrs. Capshaw began her teaching career as middle school ELA and social studies teacher for 6 years in Georgia.. She has been a librarian in both elementary and middle schools in North Carolina and Tennessee. She recieved her undergraduate degree from Tennessee Tech University and her Master's Degree in Library and Instructional Technology from Georgia Southern University. Mrs. Capshaw was the president of the Tennessee Association of School Librarians in 2022 and has presented on local, state, and national levels. She has also written and won over $90,000 in grants for various programs at her schools. Mrs. Capshaw is a native of Cookeville, is married to a local pastor and has three children plus a rescued dog. Mrs. Capshaw enjoys reading, volunteering at her church and spending time with her family.
