Siegel Middle School recently held its Academic Celebration of Excellence (ACE).
Mini-school teams from each grade level – three teams per grade – competed in games related to core academic subjects, along with design, art and paper airplane contests. Points were awarded to the top three teams in each contest and mini-school 8B had the highest score.
This year’s schoolwide theme is “We are Family” and “Family Game Night” was the theme of ACE. Each mini-school was assigned a classic board game, a word and color to represent their team. Specialty student awards were issued during the celebration.
Students who achieved Principal’s List or Honor Roll during the first two nine-week grading periods were treated to a special lunch. Those who maintain high grades all year are treated to a day-long field trip to MTSU’s Recreation Center in May. Principal Kim Stoecker said about 150 students are eligible to attend each year.
