8th graders interested in STEM: MTSU and TSU are currently taking applications for their National Summer Transportation Institute Program. This is a 4-week STEM-focused program that exposes students to the transportation industry and encourages students to pursue transportation-related courses of study at the college and university level. The application deadline is April 30th. Come by guidance and get a flyer with more information if you are interested in applying.
From Mrs. Capshaw, Beanstack Announcement:
We're heading into Week 3 of the Beanstack Reading Tournament with one week left. We started strong in 5th place, slipped to 6th, but we are still very much in this! Right now, only 37% of students are logging minutes. If everyone logged even a little reading time, we'd move up the rankings fast! You still have time to hit 600 minutes, earn prizes and help us make a final push for the district trophy. Grab a book, log your minutes, and let's finish strong!
Book Battle Announcement: Calling all readers! Are you interested in being part of a Book Battle Team? We are looking for students to be part of our Siegel Middle Book Battle Team. Students will read about four books and compete against other Rutherford County Middle Schools. Our team will take a field trip to MTSU during the school day in May to compete!
If you're interested, stop by the library to sign up with Mrs. Capshaw. Be sure to stop by before Spring Break to sign up and check out books so you can start reading right away!
