Dr. Oliver is thrilled to be a part of the amazing Siegel Middle School community this year! She brings over a decade of experience in mathematics education and leadership along with some genuine enthusiasm, creativity, and heart for kids to her 6th grade classroom in Mini School A. She believes that ALL people are capable of learning Mathematics at deep levels and is committed to fostering that in her students. She pushes students to do the "heavy lifting" of thinking, reasoning, and problem solving in her classes and often incorporates the Building Thinking Classroom practices. - She is a third generation Murfreesboro-ian and loves her community!
- She attended Mitchell-Neilson Elementary, Central Middle, and Riverdale High Schools.
- Her education continued in Murfreesboro, receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and a Master's in Education from MTSU followed by Educational Specialist and Doctorate degrees in Educational Leadership from Carson Newman University.
- She is married and has two children
- She worked for Murfreesboro City Schools for 12 years serving as a 6th Grade Mathematics teacher, Gifted Specialist, and the District Mathematics Coordinator.
- In her free time, Dr. Oliver is an avid "Thrifter," and loves to treasure hunt in Goodwills and Antique stores. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, the beach, arranging fresh flowers, riding a motorcycle, listening to live music, reading Historical Fiction, and being outside.
