Siegel Middle Cross-Country
What is cross-country?
Cross-country is a long-distance running event. During a middle school cross-country meet, students will run two miles over grass with hills.
Tryouts are Tuesday, June 4 from 7:00-8:30 am.
Check-in with your student in the cafeteria, and then please return at 8:30 am for pickup outside the cafeteria doors. We will warm up, run 1.5 miles, perform conditioning drills, and cool down. Please wear running shoes, shorts, and a tank top or short sleeve shirt. (Abdomen must be completely covered.) Also, please bring plenty of water!
Prior to trying out, please do these three things:
1. Fill out the Microsoft Form here to let us know you are interested in trying out. https://forms.office.com/r/2zgjr6b9sM
2. Get a physical dated after April 15, 2024 using the form labeled Physical Forms Medical Eligibility below. Make sure your provider has signed where applicable.
3. Upload physical, birth certificate, and all of the necessary paperwork to Final Forms. A PDF explaining how to do all of this is given below.
If selected for the team, we will have a parent meeting on Wednesday, June 5 at 6:00 pm in the cafeteria. Practice begins on Thursday, June 6 from 7:00-8:00 am every Tuesday and Thursday in the summer with the exception of dead period- (June 24-July 5). When school begins in August, we will practice after school Monday-Thursday. Meets will be mostly on Saturday mornings or after school. We will have about one meet per week during August and September. The season will be over at the end of September.
