it is Thursday September 8th and some of you have this due for you tomorrow for science so position time graph practice to pick the movement in each scenario using a position time graph so we want to make sure that we are doing these correctly so I thought I would make this video in case you needed some extra help especially those classes that maybe didn't get enough time ask questions today okay so the first problem the object moves in a positive direction at a steady speed for 5 seconds then stand still for 5 seconds it's moving in a positive direction and we know if that is it smooth positive direction that means it's moving upward away from zero are going to study to feed so we're going to move at the same intervals as we move upward and it stands still for 5 seconds which we know means that the line is in flat  the one issue with this problem is that they don't tell us how long  are going at the steady speed for 5 seconds so we're going to make some assumptions here the first thing I do need to do is label my time so I'm going to label my time 1 three four five six seven eight nine 10 and then on the side there because I don't tell us how long it's going I'm just going to go 1 2 3 4 5 cuz you make my positive direction line for 5 seconds so 12345 and that's going to put me here each time I moved upward by just that one what I'm going to connect and that's the first part stay steady for 5 seconds so 1 2 3 4 and now my line is flat  at a steady speed so it is staying the same one that I also got a lot of questions on with number 3 so let's take a look at that one so for number 3 3 seconds to the end of the driveway okay so when is speed of 3 meters per second for 3 he picked up the newspaper and three seconds later he walked back well that means he picked up newspaper and it took 5 Seconds to walk back to the house that means he was going more slowly back to the house and because we are moving away from it that it's going to be positive direction however when he goes away to his house he's going back to zero remember you never make your mind go straight down that means time has frozen so again wanting is it over here he moved it three meters per second for 30 seconds but then he moved it 5 seconds or excuse me 5 Seconds to walk back to the house so he was moving more slowly here than was here so you can real yes. However it's pretty easy just to go 3 6 9 12 15 1 2 3 then he stood still 1 second he was walking back to his house so here's my ending write down here at the zero and so my swoop here is pretty steep he's moving pretty fast then he stood still in the end if I'm connecting from here to hear this is my 5 Seconds my slope is more steep here prices me more flat here because he was going slower than over here okay start 3 seconds they still then throws Henry a ball y at a speed of 2 meters per second Henry held the ball for 2 seconds so he held it which means it was still and threw the ball back at a speed of 3 minutes of seconds so can just this was going faster been here hey so don't do it tell us however how long it took for the ball to get to Henry so that is the biggest issue with this problem so we're just going to go 2 4 6 8 10 so if you were moving in a positive direction and then here we're going to be moving in a negative Direction so that should help you do this problem hopefully the only the one that I got a question up so it was number five so is number five Josh is office chair Mayfair show me the war in 60 seconds he talked to Samantha 44 seconds he then rolled back to his desk and 6 okay so there's only like I think 10 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 so 11 you can add on to this if you need to he could do it in French but we're just going to stick with whole numbers all right so he rolled his office chair to the door in 60 seconds he talked to Samantha 44 seconds he did 6 M back to his desk in 60 seconds okay so he went back he went to fix me so that's one meter per second they don't tell us what we can figure out because he rolls 6 meters in 60 seconds so we can just go to 1 2 3 4  so we can do this one are you free or 5 and up here with 6 I'm trying to avoid doing fractions if you're having trouble so in 60 seconds so  on there he talked to Samantha for 4 seconds 1 2 3 4 and then he rolled back 6 minutes just asking 6 seconds so you're going to have to down to this if you want to use whole numbers now you can do this infractions so you can do me out two four six eight and do in between the same thing here before 6 a.m. but again I'm trying to avoid you using those fractions something like as long as you're safe is correct you're going to be okay so you can put whatever numbers you want over here how can I help and don't forget you also have some of you not nobody got this today this is not homework but it is an assessment grade so we got this today if any of you decide you want to work on it these were some hints that we went through some of the classes to help you  okay again that is not due tomorrow is at this is going to be due next week but this position time graphs of y'all have a good night
